FOOD!!!

SO Kroten tried his first solids last night. I wanted to wait till he was closer to five or six months, but he has been more hungry and not sleeping very well lately, so the doctor suggested we try it. I am not sure if he liked it or not, he gagged a couple of times, but he ate it all. We'll see how it goes.

I didnt edit these videos, so bare with me. Please ignore my baby talk.
He starts to make some pretty funny faces towards the end.

The aftermath... isn't he so cute. I thought he did pretty good at keeping it in his mouth. It wasn't as messy as I thought it would have been. He did so good, we are proud of our little man.

All work and no play...

...makes the Moss' a dull family.

Between school, work, naps and a never ending load of dishes, we have no time for much else. So our lives are kinda boring right now. School is going good though. We are so blessed that this semester is working out. I had 13 credits left to take till I could graduate and I got into every one and it works wonderfully with Jared's work schedule. What a blessing.

So nothing much has happened, but we haven't fallen off a cliff, just incase anyone is wondering where blogging Kristen went to.

That man has got talent.

Jared finally brought home the changing table he has been working on. I don't blame him for taking so long, this thing is a work of beauty. You have to know what you are doing and have talent to build something like this!! I am so excited to get everything organized and start using it.

Awhile ago I was complaining that there was no window above the sink so Jared made me this awesome mirror to put on the wall. Isn't he so sweet. Dont pay attention to the dirty disshes, they are only there for affect, it makes it seem more... life like. ;)

Jared is so talented, I am so proud of him for exploring that.

My girls first day of school

All day yesterday Kristen would run around the house saying "guess what!! Tomorrow is my last first day of school!!" So This morning I got up and made her waffles. It was not planned out so they were not waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, but they were waffles. She was tired because Kroten got up twice last night and Kristen would not let me get up with him during the night.
As Kristen looked at everybody else's blog and saw that there were back to school photos she wanted one too. So now Kristen is at school and I am at home with Kroten doing all the chores and house cleaning. After Kristen's last post I dont know if I will be able to keep up with her. Kroten loves to take naps with me on the couch while we watch movies. He also likes to play video games. So I might need everybody's luck with getting the chores done.

Finding Balance.

I have truly struggled the last three months to find balance in these new roles that I am now supposed to master. It is hard to grasp all the roles at once. Mother, Wife and Kristen. Sometimes I get these roles confused with baby sitter, maid, and selfish. It is hard to take care of Kroten and give him everything he needs when the house needs to be cleaned and I want to spend quality time with my husband. With all of that, forget a shower.

Today I did it. Dont ask me how and dont expect me to do it again, but today I really feel like I filled the roles.

Here is a list of all the things I "accomplished."

Dishes
Worked out
Cleaned the Bathroom (Including the toilet)
striped the bedding to be washed(still needs to be washed, but were on a roll)
read my scriptures
updated the blog
did I already say WORKED OUT!!! (I am proud of this one.)
Made lunch for Jared.
Took care of Kroten
Did a little homework
Called a Baby sitter so Jared and I can go to the temple tomorrow. (This one is a big deal, but that is another story.)
Took a shower
Plucked my eyebrows
finished unpacking from our trip
Cleaned the living room.
Did my hair
and I am about ready to go vacuum

And it is only 5 o' clock.

Again dont ask me how I did it. Most days I am lucky to get one of those things done. take it day by day I guess.

Oh and one more thing I learned today is that life goes on even if you dont watch "What Not to Wear" at 10 am on TLC. It is an interesting and sad epiphany I had that my show doesn't fit into any of those roles that I am trying to balance.

Our little Beastie Boys fan.

The other day we found out that Kroten is a Beastie Boys fan. Jared was pretty happy about this. Like father like son.

Oregon Part 2... Sammy's wedding.

It is interesting to me that my best friends wedding could be such a special thing. I know it sounds silly, but it really felt like I was giving her away. Josh is the best and I am so happy for them. On a different note, just like sam, the wedding was a crazy party.
Arent they such a cute couple! And Sammy is gorgeous.

I was the maid of honor and in charge of holding her dress. It was fun.

This was my bouquet. It was so pretty, but I got tired of holding it so I put it in my purse.

The brides maids. I am the prettiest one of course... ;)

I thought she was crazy for having us wear leggings and converse, but it was actually pretty cool.

Kroten likes his Grandma.

This is the first time Kroten has laughed like this. Heaven only knows why or how she got him to do it, but Kroten thinks Grandma is hilarious. Enjoy this video, it makes me laugh everytime I see it.

Oregon part 1.

We drove to Oregon for the week. It was convenient that there were two weddings. My sister Shannon's and my bestest friend Sammy's. We are only half way through the trip, but I will update you on how it is going so far.

We have eaten lots of road trip food. Karly didn't think I could shove a whole clump of chocolate pretzels in my mouth, she forgot I have a big mouth.

Kroten did really well. We broke up the drive, so he slept a lot and cried a lot but he even smiled for parts of it.

We stopped at Multnoma falls for the first of many many of kroten's beautiful outdoor Oregon experiences.

Kroten dipped his feet in his first Oregon river. He did not like the cold water much.

We went to lots of weddings and Kroten looked so cute.

My handsome boys in my favorite place in the whole world.

We visited the Portland temple for Sam's endowments.

Kroten Played with his cousin Xander.

Actually Xander tried to play with his cousin, but not only did Kroten not know how, he didn't like it much.

And... drum roll please... Kroten slept two nights so far without being swaddled!!!

Definitely more Oregon highlights later.

I have a green thumb.

Ok not really, but I am getting pretty good at this gardening thing... ok not really, but i did get one red tomato so far.
and a green pumpkin. We are hoping that it turns orange and that we get more than one. But I will be happy with one. It is pretty cool to watch all these things grow.
I am enjoying it so far, I hope that one day I can have a house and grow lots of things. I would like to try peppers and watermelon and all sorts of stuff. But this will do for now. Can you believe it, I have a tomato!!
