Kroten says...

Photobucket

{yes he dressed himself.}

Kroten is growing so fast. I look at him each day and think to myself, in amazement, he isnt a baby anymore, he is a little boy.

Besides walking, growing out of all his cute pj's, eating the crust on his sandwich and getting up on the couch (as if all that isnt grown up enough)

he is starting to talk.

Here is all the words (we are pretty sure) he is saying and their translation.

Dad {first word}- Sounds like: Da
Mom - Sounds like: MA MA MA MA MA MA
Uh-O - Sounds like: Uh-O (cutest thing you will ever see!)
Kitty - Sounds like: [A very excited and high pitched] Titty.
Doggy - Sounds like: Daddy said with a british accent. {Daudy}
Baby - Sounds like: He is saying doggy! (that makes me giggle.)

I love seeing him grow, but it sort of strikes a cord of sadness in me. I just need to remember to slow down and take it all in.
Can someone please remind me to do that, I have a problem with forgetting.

I love to read the holy scriptures...

I was cleaning Kroten's room today so we were hanging out in there. He has all kinds of fun toys and books in his room, but I turned around and found him reading his scripture story book. What a righteous little man.

I couldn't be more proud.

72 Hour kits

I am extremely hesitant (afraid is probably a better word) to get all of our food storage. We have a little, but I would like it to be one of my strengths.

So starting small, I thought 72 hour kits was a good place to begin. Actually we have been meaning to put some together for a long time. I found this cool idea for a milk jug 72 hour kit. I am super excited about it and pretty proud of myself for getting it done. It wasn't too bad, I don't know why I put things off. Once it is done, it all seems so easy, and it is comforting to know that we are getting prepared.

Check out these AWESOME food storage websites. They have answered all my questions and eased a lot of my fears about getting prepared.

Im a good citizen!

Today we were at the mall getting our new phones.
As we were getting into our car, we heard a loud crash. We thought that someone got in an accident. As we were pulling around the corner, we saw a guy slam a car door and run toward an old truck and get in and speed away. It took a few seconds to put the whole scene together...

Big loud crash
+
glass on the ground
+
creepy guy running away...

OH MY GOODNESS...
that guy just broke into that car.

So the adrenaline kicked in and I yelled at Jared
(who was sitting next to me)
"get the licence plate number"

and so the chase began. Jared (with a rush of adrenaline ) took off, followed the old truck and began dialing 911.

Funny side note, the truck was from Utah.

We followed the truck for about 5 miles before loosing them, I think they knew we were following them cause they cut off quickly to get on the freeway. But it was good because we were able to tell the cops what direction they were going and I was a little scared that they were gonna "bust a cap" on us.
(I know the lingo now that I am a good citizen.)

Long story made shorter:
The PD (that's what we call it, cause we are good citizens) called later and said they would be in touch. Jared asked if they caught them and the police officer said that they think so, which Jared says means yes, they are just innocent till proven guilty, so the cop couldn't say yes.
(he knows that now cause he is a good citizen.)

We also found out that the getaway truck was stolen, which makes sense because there is no way that someone from Utah would do this. *wink*

So as Jared said on Facebook, we will sleep good tonight, knowing that those creeps will be sleeping in a jail cell.

I still have adrenaline pumping through my veins.
What a rush.

Crawling is still the preferred mode of transportation,
but we are making some definite progress.

Beat the heat

The last few weeks have been hotter than snot. I HATE THE HEAT, I melt. So a few saturdays ago, we went with Josh and Sam to the most awsome swimmin' hole ever. It was so neat and so great to get out of the heat.
We loved it and want to go back ASAP!!

Jared and Josh enjoying the much needed cool down.

Sammy J in the swimmin' hole.

Kroten not lovin' his floaty.
He loved playing with the rocks though, it only took him a few minutes to discover that they are just as much fun on the floaty as in the water.

Me in front of the jumping rock. it wasnt that big, but it seems high when you are on top.

Sammy and Kroten chillin' while the rest of us jump.

Jared taking the leap.

Josh's cannon ball

Sammy and I jumpin'. Best shot out of 4 jumps.

And afterwards, we went to pizza. {of course!}
We went to this little new york style pizza joint by Sam and Josh's house.MMMM! It was great.
They called it ninja turtle pizza.
It totally was!!!

What a great Saturday.

No shirt... no shoes...

That's OK.

I went in to get Kroten out of bed this morning, and this is what I found...

He had taken his shirt off.
(see how proud he is of himself.)

I was shocked and curious how he did it. I was sure that it was a one time thing. Maybe he did it on accident while sleeping or something like that. But about 15 minutes later, while he drank his morning milk, I turned around to find this...

He had taken his pants off.
(I am giggling as I write this, that is how funny it was.)

At this point I was thinking of all possibilities for this fluke... maybe these pj's are too big, maybe the pants fell off, maybe I took them off and don't remember. Just as I am pondering this, I saw this...

CAUGHT IN THE ACT.

I am still shocked!
Silly boy.
Next stop diaper...

NO!!

Happy Birthday Blog.

2 whole years.

2 my blog:
You have been so good to me.

We have cried together, laughed lots, and reminisced.

Here is to many more years of...
memories
Listening to me rant
keeping me company during my graveyard shifts
putting up with the changes
learning to blog together
keeping track of my growing boy
hours of nit-picky overly obsessive posting
pictures
and writing my life story.

2 my readers:
Although there may be few of you. Thanks for reading my rants, commenting on my posts, and being interested in our life. It wouldn't be possible without you.

2 Jessica:
Thanks for hooking up blog and I.
You are such a good matchmaker.

2 my posterity:
This blog is for you. Read it, cherish it, love it, and learn from my mistakes.

I'm a murderer

Jared and I painted these cute little pots and planted seeds in them. They were growing so good. I was so proud of myself. I have the brownest thumb ever...
Photobucket
They were growing so beautifully.

And they looked so cute on our proch.

This was my favorite pot. isnt it cute?

Then tragedy struck.

I dont know what happened.
Did I neglect them?
Did I not give them enough water?
Did they get sun burnt?
WHY... WHY did this have to happen?
THEY WERE SO INNOCENT.

They ALL died.

And my favorite pot broke!
I am crying inside.
It really hurt.

And now only their carcasses and the cute pots remain.

This is a lot sadder than you would think.
