Ape Caves

On our way up to Seattle, we stopped at the Ape Caves near Mount Saint Hellen, with Jared's brother and sister-in-law. It was a lot of fun, a pretty hard hike, but a lot of fun. There are no monkeys incase you are wondering, they are called the Ape Caves becuause it was discovered by a scout troop called the apes. Also it is rumored to house Big Foot, Sadly we did not get to meet him.

Funny Story: As we were planning our trip, I was reading up on the caves since we were taking Kroten, I wanted to know exactly what we were getting into. Everywhere I read said that it was a difficult hike, and that there was an 8 foot wall that you have to climb. I was telling Jared that I didnt feel comfortable doing this with a baby. Jared had been to the caves before like a million years ago (ok, like 10 years a go.) and was telling me that it was not that hard and that the "wall" was really only like 5 feet tall and easy to climb. So the whole hike, everyone thought they were funny and did stupid things like pioint to 2 foot ledges and make snide comments like there is your cliff kristen. HA HA. But as you can see in the next few pictures, THERE WAS A WALL, and I WAS RIGHT!!!!! It was a hard hike, and Jared and I agreed that if we did it again, we probably wouldnt recomend taking a baby.

The end is in sight.

One Great Trip.

This past weekend, we went to Seattle to visit with Jared's family. We had a ton of fun, and did a ton of stuff. Sorry (I don't know why I am apologizing) once again there are a lot of pictures.

We played with aunts and uncles.

We ate LOTS!!

We played ridiculously loud games. (NOTE to all people. DO NOT PLAY GAMES WITH KRISTEN AFTER 11 PM. You will feel the rath.)

We went to cool places.

This is the troll statue.
You may have seen it in 10 Things I Hate About You.

We ate some more.
I was very happy that night.
It was FANTASTIC.

We ran in the seattle rain.

We played some more.

We loved our aunts and uncles.
(well maybe just uncle Jason.)

We hung out with G-pa-pa.

We rode the ferry.

It was very windy.

Kroten didnt like Aunt Ali as much as Jason,
but we hung out.

Played with Grandma.

played boche- ball.

Rocked at boche-ball

Took a plane ride around seattle. It made me sick.

Silver Falls

If you don't like pictures, don't Read this post.
Cause there are LOTS.

We went hiking saturday with Sam and Josh.

BEST HIKE EVER.

It is one of those places that you wonder...
"why have I never been here before."
If you live in Oregon and have never been here, I HIGHLY recomend it.

We hiked 4 1/2 miles and saw 4 waterfalls.
And that is only half of the hike and half of the waterfalls.
We'll be going back another weekend to do the other half. Can't wait.

Lots of pictures, it was beautiful. Hopefully that is ok. :)

We hiked the green line. 4 1/2 miles.

Dont be deceived, he hated the back pack.

Breath taking, absolutly gorgeous.

The boys kept picking and eating these... they said they were huckleberrys. Lets just say Kroten had an interesting diaper the next day.

At one with nature.

Funny.
I thought he would have loved an outdoor butt-change.

Lunch anyone? After that hike, I was ready to eat a horse. It was only .3 miles back to the first waterfall, so we took lunch there. Glad we did, it was so pretty.

Silly Boy. He wouldnt eat the cheetos, he would just do this and make noises, and then try to feed it to someone else.

Kroten wanted to go into the water so bad. This is as close as he got.

I was so ready to be done. But it was fun!
