Two is TERRIBLE!!!

Right now, this age,  28 months, 2 and a half, today, this is NOT my favorite k man stage!!!!

What do you do when his favorite word is NO.

What do you do when you put him to bed at 8, but it is 2 potty trips, one glass of milk, just one toy car, a meltdown and midnight before he is asleep.

What do you do when he hits and screams and nothing, NOTHING, will pacify him?

What do you do when he rocks the car seat with the baby in it so hard that she cries?

What do you do when he has so much energy that you wonder when he is going to drop?

What do you do when he wears snow boots night and day for a week straight?

What do  you do when he runs away from you at the park and screams so hard you are afraid people will think you are trying to kidnap him?

What do you do when you realize you might be punishing too much when he spanks mommy and says go to time out?

What do you do when you dread him coming home from the baby sitters?

What do you do when all he wants to do is watch Nemo or cars?

What do you do when he has no more clean underwear because he goes through all of them in two days?

What do you do when your greatest desire is to clean the house without a toddler under your feet?

What do you do when clothing is not an option?

I know, I know... this to shall pass.

kemiry k, your two months old today.

Two months old and she is seriously part of the fam. We love having her and can't imagine life without her. Life is a little stressful, but I remember when it was stressful with Kman, and I just need to tell myself that it gets easier. WE LOVE YOU KEM K.

At two months old, you...
weigh 11 lb. 4 oz. (63 percentile)
are 23'' (73 percentile)
hold your head up so well.
have a double chin and little leg rolls.
coo and talk.
scream at a high pitch to let us know you are unhappy.
got your toenails painted by daddy.
mimic other peoples face expressions.
Poop on mommy.
have a yucky eye and a clogged tear duct.
stare at pictures on the wall.
demand attention.
play with the toys on the bouncy seat.
have the cutest pouty face when you are about to cry.
sleep 6 hour chunks on a good night.
sleep 3 hour chunks on a bad night.
Watch TV with big brother.
have blue eyes.
create jealousy in Kman
grab and hold onto anything you can get a hold of.
Suck on your hands if you can catch them.
Don't like tummy time.

...and I couldn't resist posting this one. This is her pouty face she makes every time she is going to cry. Melts my heart every time, but I LOVE IT!

down on the farm

I knew putting this as the title of this post was really really bad. there is a song on one of Kroten's signing time videos... "Down on leah's farm there is one yellow... one yellow... one yellow chicken." and guess what... it is now stuck in my head. GREAT

We went to the farm with some new friends that just moved in to the area. We basically adore them already. This is my favorite time of year to go to the farm because we love pumpkins and apples and anything fall, plus it isn't as hot out. We had a ton of fun, and need to do this outing again, minus the pee in the pants thing. UGH.

Photobucket Getting them to stand still for this shot was a nightmare. We literally had to corall them into this corner and offer them suckers if they would smile. But lets just pretend they are all this cute and sweet all the time.

PhotobucketUnfortunately your thoughts are probably correct, Kroten is winding his hand up to hit the goat. I swear we are not abusive, he is just a boy. plus, the goat probably licked him or something.

PhotobucketThis was the hay maze. They loved it.

Photobucket Isn't raimee, the little one adorable, all by herself there, not part of the cool crowd. She is probably my favorite little thing ever.

Thanks Traci, for pulling my arm and getting me out of the house. Your an awesome friend. Lets do it again sometime.

calling all banana bread lovers

I wouldn't call myself a lover, but I like banana bread. I take that back, I like GOOD banana bread. It has to be thick and moist and dark. Every time I raise the courage to try making another loaf, it ends up being light and fluffy, sounds yummy, but it is not.

This morning, I looked in the freezer, I am not sure why, but I saw the ten bananas that I have been stashing away for a rainy day that I was feeling confident. Obviously it hadn't come in a while, how did I get that many bananas?

So I decided I was going to have a banana bread marathon to see if I can find that one recipe. You know, the one recipe that you made that one time, but you cannot remember which one it was and you just cannot replicate. So I scoured my cookbooks and made three loafs of banana bread. Just incase you were wondering how many loafs 10 bananas makes, its three.

So we made banana bread...

and the conclusion was that the Better Homes and Gardens recipe was the best (of the three.) And I even used whole wheat flour (don't tell Jared)

The third loaf not only looks HORRIBLE, but tasted nasty too.

No I didn't find the ONE, but it was pretty good, I liked it. But maybe if I can find that ONE, I might become a banana bread lover.

I did learn a secret, don't use a blender, use a wooden spoon, we like chunks of banana, not just banana flavored bread.

Better Homes and Gardens Banana Bread
2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 eggs, beaten
1-1/2 cups mashed banana (5 medium)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cooking oil or melted butter or margarine
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 recipe Streusel-Nut Topping (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of one 9x5x3-inch or two 7-1/2x3-1/2x2-inch loaf pans; set aside. In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Make a well in center of flour mixture; set aside.

2. In a medium bowl combine eggs, banana, sugar, and oil. Add egg mixture all at once to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened (batter should be lumpy). Fold in nuts. Spoon batter into prepared pan(s). If desired, sprinkle Streusel Topping over batter.

3. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes for 9x5x3-inch pan or 40 to 45 minutes for 7-1/2x3-1/2x2-inch pans or until a wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean (if necessary, cover loosely with foil the last 15 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning). Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely on a wire rack. Wrap and store overnight before slicing.

4. Makes 1 loaf (16 slices)

5. Streusel-Nut Topping: In a small bowl combine 1/4 cup packed brown sugar and 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour. Using a pastry blender, cut in 2 tablespoons butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in 1/3 cup chopped walnuts.

And of course...

laboring over the weekend

Ok, there wasn't a ton of laboring, just camping. Lots and lots of camping.

Photobucket family photo-op on the newport crabbing docks.

We started the weekend on wednesday camping at the coast with our besties. I was too lazy (I mean I had two kids two worry about) so I didn't take any pictures, but sammy j did, so you can just go read her awesome post about that part of our camping trip. We had a ton of fun, I love the beach.

Then when that was over, we cam home, did a load of laundry and bathed the children, and then the very same day headed to diamond lake with my fam. Yes, it was crazy and hectic and we didn't get there till 11 pm. But the rest of the weekend was super relaxing and fun.

You must know that it was freezing.. litterally FREEZING. This is what we woke up to...
It wasn't just a little frost, the water we had gotten for hot chocolate was frozen through. The waterbottles were frozen and the moss hanging off the trees were ice. IT WAS FREEZING!! Luckily during the day it warmed up so Jared and my dad could go fishing.

Kroten loved papas boat, I think he might be a future fisherman...
He has this kids fishing pole (best $11.95 we have ever spent) and he casts the whole time they are in the boat, no hook, just a little weight, but he thinks he is fishing.

Jared has horrible luck when it comes to fishing, but he keeps trying (mostly because his fishing licence was 35 bucks) but he had a breakthrough this weekend and he caught three fish.

Jared with two of his fish and my dad with one of his...

Kroten was even into helping gut and clean the fish...

I think I may have said it before, but... WE LOVE CAMPING!!!

what we will miss

Summer, you are more than welcome to leave. We will not miss your long hot days and sweaty, sleepless nights nor will we miss the sun burns and bug bites.

Even though I am so happy to see your lush green leaves turn and fall, I will miss a few things...

Boat rides with papa
camping, camping and more camping
Bright yellow bucket hats...

black berry picking
sunny days on the cold Oregon coast...

feet in the river
otter pops

finding four leaf clovers
fountain running...

flip flops
having daddy home all the time

laying in the grass
the smell of sunscreen
corn on the cob
and this...

looking at the stars
staying up past bed time
anything to do with water...

fires and BIG MALLOWS!
crisp summer evenings
bike rides...

Shorts and undies hanging out and jumping off things other than a couch...

sleeping with the windows open
long walks on the beach...

Somedays I just want to pinch someone

Somedays its kroten...
with his two year old tantrums and the overuse of the word NO. (OH!!! I could kill who ever taught him to say the word no.) He kicks and pushes and screams for attention. The worst is when he asks for milk and you think finally, the thing that will calm him down. So you go to the cupboard, can't find a sippy so you wash one of the 50 dirty ones in the sink, dig through the fridge to get his milk which is in the back and pour him a glass, take it to him and then he says NO, and pushes it away. ERR!! I could just scream!

Some times it is Kemiry...
you think she is innocent and cute, dont you. Today, I was packing for camping and she just wanted to be held. The ONE TIME that I have something to do that is more important than sitting and loving on her, all she wants is to be held. She has one perpetual eye booger that no matter how many times you get rid of it, it comes back. She throws up on me constantly and she wakes up at 3 am. ERRR I could just scream.

Oh and the worst offender. sometimes it is Jared...
I wont go into this because I love him more than words could ever express but sometimes... ugh, sometimes... I could just scream.

And then there is me... The house is a mess, my fault. Kman is angry because he didn't get enough attention, my fault. More yelling then love was given today, my fault. The dishes are dirty, the bathroom stinks, I didn't read my scriptures, were not packed for camping, the baby is crying and my hair is a mess... ALL MY FAULT. EER, I could just scream.

There are times through out the day when I feel my teeth clench and my heart race and all I want to do is pinch someone. I am not joking, I often feel this angry urge to pinch someone. Then there are other times during the day when all I can do is hang my head in my hand because of this overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. I just feel like "I can't do this. They deserve so much better"

Then there are those times, they are to far between, but there are those times when I have been able to take more than one deep breath, when I feel love. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and trusts me with these children. I feel love for my babies and I am compleatly overcome with joy in them. I feel love and graditude for my AMAZING husband. and I feel so blessed. Wow, I am so blessed. If it weren't for these moments, I might pinch someone.
