first bath

Kemiry had her first bath... duh, you all knew that was coming, they all have a first bath sooner or later right? Jared, was super dad and just stepped in and did it all, well most of it. She cried, and hated every minute of it, but I love her even when she is screaming.

daddy is the master swadler. Seriously, there is no moving in this wrap, but even after being tortured in the bath, she looks pretty happy.

staying and going.

Our hospital stay was really nice. I don't know why anyone would want to come home early. Because I had to have a c-section I had to stay at least two nights. By sunday morning I was feeling a little overwhelmed and still a little nervous to come home. So we stayed one more night and by monday morning I was actually excited to come home. Our nurses were awesome and I couldn't have asked for better help. They made sure that I was healing properly and that Kem was nice and healthy. We had to switch rooms on our last night because the nurses phones were not working in our room and they thought it wasn't safe. I love staying in the hospital, I feel like a queen in a big adjustable bed demanding grahm crackers with peanut butter and a percocet.

Our view out the window was ugly it was just the hospital roof, but the sunrise was one of my favorite things to look for.

Kroten would not sleep in the cradle so it was a nice treat to have a baby who will.

We came home on Monday afternoon. It was a nice time to come home. While we were in the hospital Kroten kept saying baby home, but I was super nervous of how he would act when we did bring her home. To my surprise, he was very excited to see baby Kemiry at his house. The next morning I woke up before Jared and Kemiry, and Kroten said "daddy, baby, hospital." He thought we had just left them there. lol.

Needless to say, we are so excited to be home, nervous that we have two kids, and over joyed that we are a family of four.

Him and Her

Photobucket

This was my favorite photo of Kroten when we were in the hospital and I really wanted to see the comparisons. They seem to have the same chin and nose and eyes. Definitely different ears and lips. Kroten was chubbier and had bigger ears and Kemiry has a little bit bigger and pointier chin and darker skin. They are definitely siblings...WOW! More on that overwhelming thought later.

mommy wow...

I am in no hurray to potty train Kroten, but Jared feels differently. So Nana bought Kroten some big boy pants. They are just that, BIG... my skinny 2 year old doesn't quite wear 2T undies yet. But he did really well, no accidents in them. We will see how the next few days of trying to wear them goes. I am actually fine with potty training now, because if he has an accident, I can't help much, so Jared will have to do all the cleaning up. :)

What is better than watching baseball in your underware? playing ball in your skivies...

At the end of the video, k man hit the ball into the hat, and it stuck just like this. Laughing this hard after a c-section hurts!!!

what's in a name?

Photobucket

Lots of people have asked about the name. Probably because it was shrouded in secrecy, it took us to the last possible second to decide and because it is so unique. So I will explain.

It is pronounced with three syllables. So it sounds like kem.eh.ree.

Jared made it clear that any subsequent children's names will now too have to begin with a K. He also made "boy, girl, done." very clear.

Coming up with her name was a process of melting together several other names that we had heard and liked. It started with a talk that President Uchdorf gave in General Conference about a man named Zimri. I liked the name, but it wasn't right. Jared and I both like k names so we played with Kimrie and it eventually evolved into kemry. Later we were looking through genealogy books and came across the name Emery, loved it and added it to our list. Then somehow I thought to add them together and bam...Kemery, I don't like the mery part because it reminds me of christmas so we played with LOTS of spelling and about an hour after she was born settled on the current spelling.

We truely didn't have a name picked out till right before the surgery. I was not making it up when I said we had no name picked. We had a whole list a few weeks ago and had narrowed it down to three names... Emery, Kemiry, and Rigney. So far everyone has said that they are glad we chose the way we did. We loved the name Rigney, and seriously didn't eliminate it till about an hour before she was born.

K is her middle name just like J is Kroten's middle name. J for Jared and K for Kristen.

she has already taken on her name and is totally little Kemiry K.

Ready or not...

Tomorrow is the day.  Can you believe that I made it? I am not dead, because I did not die. I did not rip the baby from my belly, I did not ring kman's neck, and despite what I originally thought...the day has come.

Almost my whole to do list is crossed off, including getting my eye brows waxed, and I think the name is 90% picked out.
Photobucket

I told myself and the baby that we just have to make it till Nana gets here and guess what, Nana is here and we are still kickin'. And now we are kickin' with pretty toes.

I love life and things are good... lets just say I am glad that tomorrow is the day. I hope I can sleep tonight!!! 5:30 am is really early to be at the hospital.

Memorial day weekend...

So you thought I was behind when I posted about 4th of july... Well here is from 2 months ago, our AWSOME memorial day weekend. It was awesome!

We went camping with Karly and my Dad, my mom was out of town. We fished, and camped and slept and got poured on our last day. It was a great great great camping trip. Like always, the picture will tell the story.

We had a deep discussion about how camping helps us be grateful for the things we have and more grateful for the things the pioneers did... Karly watched movies.

Ok... if you have not tried these big mallows, you are missing out. BEST MALLOWS EVER. the one on the left is a regular jumbo mallow and the one on the right is the greatest toasted treat ever!!! I toast the outside to perfection and then pull off the top layer leaving the gooey stuff on the stuck and shove 3 pieces of chocolate in the middle. it melts and it is WONDERFUL. PLEASE try one.

Photobucket
and kroten likes them too.

Photobucket
It was kmans b-day, so we made dutch oven pineapple up-side-down cake. YUMMMY. Now every time we light a camp fire he sings happy birthday.

Photobucket
We got kman his bike for his b-day. He loved riding it around camp.
