Our service at red robin was awful. We seriously saw our waitress three times. Once to take our drink and food order. Once to bring us our food and drinks at the same time. And finally to bring up our check and that was after we stopped other servers to get us stuff and had already asked for a manager. Our waitress knew it was k man's birthday and did nothing and red robin normally does. So the manager was very nice and asked if there is anything she could do for us and we said there is nothing we need except to do something for k man's birthday. We were shocked when she brought us this gift card. We love love love red robin and one bad service experience is not going to keep us away but this is awesome and a date night for us.
K man's birthday
K man's shopping spree courtesy of Nana and Gpa new unders ''the shorts kind'' at his request. bubble bath. Bath tub colors. Water bottles one for Kem. And the toy to covet above all other toys at walmart ... Real grown up binoculars!
Kman's birthday
You don't need to tell me that skateboards for little boys is a dangerous thing, you would be preaching to the choir. Tell the little boys daddy. At-least he got him a new helmet too.
k man's birthday
Look what I made for k man. He is really in to CTR which means choose the right. I am ok with it and will totally encourage it. :)
Kman's birthday
We asked k man what he wanted for dinner for his birthday (I know its the night before but o well we like to make it last) and he said breakfast. He ate so so so much which is not like him. He asked for more sausage and said I just gobbled that last one up. Lol silly kid!
K man's birthday
one of Nana and Gpa's presents. This book looks awesome. Its got experiments and crazy things to do with your kids that might be dangerous and that you might not normally let your kids do with all the instructions and places to write notes. It even has all the cautions like may cause upset stomach or may make a mess. So cool. It has things like licking a batterie (I totally remember doing that) microwave explosions and cooking in the dish washer. Were going to have fun with this book. Don't get me wrong i am a little nervous but it will be fun.

Kman's birthday
k man's birthday extravaganza started off with a ''special Sunday delivery from the mail man'' of a package from Nana and g pa.
Kaman is F..O..U..R ... 4
K man's birthday is tomorrow and he is VERY excited. I feel like a bad mom, because I am refusing to host a friend party this year. I just want to avoid the mess and the drama and the work. But I am more than happy and very excited to spoil my big guy with some one on one time with mommy tomorrow. Daddy has to work, and I have a sitter all lined up for kem, and we have some exciting plans.
So for the next 24 hours, I plan on posting updates of his big bash.
I love you little man, one day your going to be a big man, but for now lets enjoy being just four.

I am not an animal lover. In fact when i was in high school animals of any variety but particularly ferrets and cats were on my hate list right next to bugs and my best friends brother. I know i know kinda harsh. But really, they lick themselves, they don't wipe after using the facilities, they meow and whine when they want something, they want to be petted and loved NOW, they are completely dependent on the owner, they scratch things up, they stink. Its like having another child! Why would i want that? But jared lover cats and he talks so fondly of his kitty from back home who we just heard this past winter died. He has been wanting a cat since we got married and since we are finally in a place to have one i gave in. But all stinkiNess aside, i actually like him. And it warms my heart how much k man loves him. He is fuzzy and orange and his name is lenard.

our Kemers is a bit of a girly girl. She is obsessed with shoes, loves "Pretty" things, dresses and clothes and Jewlry. I put sponge curlers in her hair the other day and they all fell out through out the night and when i went in her room to get her in the morning, she was sitting in her crib holding a few curlers in her hands, crying "pretties!" she was distraught that they all fell out. Its going to be interesting raising a girly girl.

An extra seventy pounds (approximately)
Normally jared pulls the kids in the trailer. Today i decided I need the calories burned more than him, so I had him switch it to my bike. Oh my goodness, what a work out. An extra seventy pounds or so of a workout. I am thinking this may be a daily activity for us this summer! I may change my mind when I wake up with jello legs in the morning.
Mothers day
I normally would say something mushy and lovely about how being a mom is hard work (baldy blah) and how although it is hard work it is very rewarding etc.
But I am not in a very mushy mood and this post is late mostly because I dont have time because being a mom is hard work... you get it.
I DO love these kids, and I AM glad that I am their mom...
(notice K man's neckalace that he gave to ME for mothers day but insisted on wearing it to church and to school the following day. lol)
Both kiddos made me awesome presents in their sunday school class. We have such good primary leaders.
AND... Jared...who is really, really, really bad at holidays, did very good this year. He made me feel very special. In addition to all my presents, he made me waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast. And got the kiddos 90% ready for church.
I am glad to be a mom, it is hard work, but very rewarding.

portrait of a mother.
he does not seem to care that I am not perfect or that I have a million things to work on. Maybe its because he doesn't know any better but to my four year old I am a pretty cool mama (as long as I make mac and cheese and play catch every now and then) and apparently I look a little like a potato, but I am ok with it. I wish i could see myself through his eyes more often.

Yesterday...
Yesterday was one of those good days. One of those times when you actually feel the joy that they talk about when you have kids. The joy that they "supposedly" bring you.
Jared had to work, and normally when he works nights it brings me stress. It means I have to do dinner and play time and bed time ALL BY MYSELF. You understand right?
It was sunny and we took a picnic to the park (see previous post.) We swang on the swings and played baseball and frisbee, we made daisy crowns and played and played. As they swang on the swing, each would give me a kiss as they swang toword me, and they thought that was the funniest thing ever. I may or may not have teared up a bit when they were giggling with delight.
Then we came home and they went to bed.
We have been to the park a million and a half times, we have played cars, playdough and bubbles, we have cooked together we have sang and read together, don't think this was my first attempt at playing with them, becuase it is a daily event, but maybe my attitude was different this particular time. I can honestly say that playing with my munchkins at the park on this sunny spring evening was truely joyful.
I think I will keep them.
(not so joyful about my double chin in this picture, I swear it was the angle, I have not gained 100 pounds.)

it hurts!
I love my job. It has lots of perks and only a few down sides. However I recently discovered a new very big downside...Nasty, horrible, disgustingly itchy poison oak. Its all over and it hurts and itches. I would not wish this on my worste enemy (Ok, maybe i would. lol.)
