Yesterday was one of those good days. One of those times when you actually feel the joy that they talk about when you have kids. The joy that they "supposedly" bring you.
Jared had to work, and normally when he works nights it brings me stress. It means I have to do dinner and play time and bed time ALL BY MYSELF. You understand right?
It was sunny and we took a picnic to the park (see previous post.) We swang on the swings and played baseball and frisbee, we made daisy crowns and played and played. As they swang on the swing, each would give me a kiss as they swang toword me, and they thought that was the funniest thing ever. I may or may not have teared up a bit when they were giggling with delight.
Then we came home and they went to bed.
We have been to the park a million and a half times, we have played cars, playdough and bubbles, we have cooked together we have sang and read together, don't think this was my first attempt at playing with them, becuase it is a daily event, but maybe my attitude was different this particular time. I can honestly say that playing with my munchkins at the park on this sunny spring evening was truely joyful.
I think I will keep them.
(not so joyful about my double chin in this picture, I swear it was the angle, I have not gained 100 pounds.)
